NEW RECORD 16 Sep 2026 [LIKELY birth date - 1940 cert + FS GWK4-33X (parents Jan Jans Bonenberg x Grietje Eibrink); the register row itself is offline]. CERT FATHER-FIELD ERROR ADJUDICATED: the cert's father field reads "Steve Boneburg" but the informant was Jacob's own son Steve - Jacob is JAN's son (Steven's actual son Jacob b. 1910 is a different man). Adult in Jamestown 1895-96 (Ottawa birth register p.77 row 316: dau Vera J b. 20-12-1895, wife Hattie). 1884 MI state census Ottawa Jamestown p0597 lists Jacob in Jan's household. Spelling drift Bonenberg/Boonenberg/Boneburg/Bonenburg across MI records.
IMMIGRATION-YEAR CONFLICT (flagged 16 Sep 2026): this record says 1867 (corpus, from the Bevolkingsregister card + secondary sources); the 1900 census says immigration 1866 ("in US 33 yrs"); FS profile says 1866; a migenweb settler genealogy even says 1865. Family account (Griffin 2010) admits the date was unknown. Passenger list NOT FOUND free (ISTG/olivetree/ggarchives null; castlegarden timeout; FS NY index Incapsula-blocked) - behind-login route: Ancestry M237 rolls 271-290. Keep 1867 as recorded pending the passenger list.
Born at VIERHOUTEN (Ermelo), NOT Doornspijk - why every earlier search missed. First wife Heintje/Hendrikje Haze (d. between 3-2-1858 and 31-3-1860); second wife Grietje Eijbrink (widow Schuiteman) m. 31-3-1860 Doornspijk. WARNING: CORRECTION:
Conc: prior
NEW RECORD 16 Sep 2026 [DOCUMENTED birth month/year]: RESOLVES the 3-way conflict - the corpus's 22-11-1868 and FS's 15-Oct-1868 both post-date the county-register row and are WRONG; Sept 1867 also matches the 1900 census ("John b. Sept 1867, age 32, single, at home in Jan sr's 1900 household") and the 1870 census "JOHN 1". Do not merge with the WWI-card John Boonenberg b. 29-9-1895 Vriesland (different man, DO-NOT-MERGE).
Half-brother of Grietje (mother = Grietje Eijbrink).
Came to Michigan with sons Hendrik and Beerd; died in Jamestown Twp 1904 - corroborates the family's decades in Jamestown.
Widowed first from Gerrit Schuiteman (d. 15-10-1858 Doornspijk). Parents: Benjamin Eijbrink + Stijntje Schuiteman.
