WARNING: WIFE CONFLICT (both readings recorded, Sep 9 2026): (1) Mary CLARK 'of Gloucester RI' - Uxbridge VRs: 'Mijamin and Mary Clark of Gloucester, R.I., int. May 5, 1787' [DOCUMENTED]; (2) Amy/Luna SPRAGUE m. 1785 per Sprague genealogy/WikiTree Taft-1442/FaG 113342487 [LIKELY]. The Dorsey genealogy warns the Clark marriage may belong to the OTHER Mijamin (nephew, son of Nathan). Resolve via Uxbridge birth entries for Benedict/Jesse 's. of Mijamin'. DO NOT MERGE with his father Mijamin (1712-1785) or cousin Mijamin5 - the two same-name Mijamins have been conflated in print once already. DAR patriot 'MIJAMIN TAFT, Private, MA' exists on chapter rosters - which Mijamin it refers to needs the DAR GRS ancestor search (free). * DAR VERDICT 10 Sep 2026 (GRS, browser): OUR Mijamin (b. 9 Sep 1760 Glocester RI) is NOT a registered DAR patriot. The two registered Mijamin Tafts are: A112368 = Mijamin b. 13 Jun 1740 Uxbridge, d. 23 Jun 1817 Uxbridge (PRIVATE, MA) - our Mijamin's FIRST COUSIN (son of Nathan 1738); DAR spouse list for A112368 = (1) SARAH SMITH (2) MARY CLARK, member apps 619549/635292 (via Sally Hutchinson), 706199 (via Hannah Lilley) - this settles the Clark-vs-Sprague reading: the 1787 Mary CLARK marriage belongs to the 1740 Mijamin (as Dorsey warned), NOT to ours; and A206647 = the 1712 Mijamin (Civil Service). COROLLARY: the Amy/Luna SPRAGUE 1785 marriage attribution to OUR Mijamin rests on WikiTree/FaG only - Uxbridge VR has no Sprague entry for either Mijamin; our Mijamin's wife remains OPEN (children Benedict 1787 + Jesse 1798 need their mother documented). The DAR-registered PRIVATE 1740 cousin is also the man whose wife-problem Dorsey described.
Married (1) Henry Hart, (2) Daniel Chase (this was written inside her surname in earlier versions).
No Revolutionary service record surfaced yet (Sep 2026 audit); DAR/NARA audit open. His wife Sarah Cooper died before 1771; he remarried and stayed in the Glocester/Uxbridge orbit.
Parents unknown: the 1885 Phillips Genealogies leaves the South Kingstown RI line unconnected. See extension-colonial.md.
m.(1) Sarah Sweeting int. 6 Mar 1733/4; m.(2) Susanna Robins of Douglas int. 12 Dec 1779 (Uxbridge VRs). Published Dorsey genealogy confused father and son marriages once - never merge the two Mijamins. * DAR PATRIOT CONFIRMED 10 Sep 2026 (GRS, browser): Ancestor #A206647 - CIVIL SERVICE, MASSACHUSETTS: DEER REEVE 1776 + 1777. Source: MADAR Town Officials 1775-1783, GRC 1935 S1 V35 pp 146-7. DAR spouses (1) Sarah Sweeting (2) Susanna Robbins - match. Associated member apps: 628129 (child Molly m. Joseph Richardson), 834233 (child Rhoda m. Ephraim Towner). This is the REGISTERED DAR PATRIOT in our line - Rob qualifies for DAR lineage membership through him. (The registered PRIVATE A112368 = the 1740 Jr., a different man - see T36 note.)
